DESCRIPTION:This workshop will guide you to create a quilted jacket that fits both your body and your personality! We’re going to show you how to make this jacket using an existing sweatshirt. Led by Jean Horwath-Schaefer\, you’ll learn to assemble your panels\, re-attach them\, and bind your finished jacket. \nYour jacket will not have a collar or a hood. You can choose to add buttons\, snaps\, or a toggle for closure. \nClass requirements: \n\n1 crew-neck sweatshirt – must not have raglan style sleeves. Purchase 1 size larger than you would normally wear. Click here for our recommended sweatshirt\nMachine\, power cord\, foot control\, thread\, and bobbins\nFabric details TBD – look for info from instructor\n\nEVENT SCHEDULE: \nPart 1: 9/15/2026 10am – 2pm\nPart 2: 9/19/2026 10am – 2pm \n—————- \nA note from your instructor: \nThis jacket (a large to extra large) was made with one layer cake of 42 squares – find a layer cake that has no more than two print squares alike.\n\nStart with a sweatshirt that is one size above what you usually wear. It must have set-in sleeves.\nBefore class you will remove all the ribbing around the neck\, waist and sleeves. Also\, remove the stitching from the sleeves\, so they will lay flat.\n\nSince we will be working with some curves\, the binding will be cut on the bias. A 21″ or 23″ square will work. If you are wearing a size larger than described\, bring extra squares for the jacket (an extra charm pack?) and I have a chart for making more binding.\n\n
